About

Visionwest Home Healthcare

Since 1991, Visionwest Home Healthcare has been providing quality professional home healthcare support to older adults and people living with a disability in a way that enables them to live independently within their own homes. We currently provide care for an average of 5,529 clients every month – that equates to well over a million hours of home healthcare every year.

Visionwest clients include people of all ages with varying needs, from a young person living with a complex disability to an older person requiring help with household chores they now find difficult. The majority of these clients, irrespective of age, agree that staying in their own home and in familiar surroundings is crucial to their health and wellbeing. Visionwest’s team is committed to ensuring this happens by providing the appropriate services.

Our team of over 1,300 Support Workers are highly skilled and fully trained in all aspects of in-home healthcare and are dedicated to delivering each client’s professional support plan that is tailored to meet their individual needs and goals. Plans are prepared with the involvement of family, whānau and/or friends if this is requested.

What kind of support is available? Short or long term help is available for all home healthcare needs including cleaning, shopping, laundry, meal preparation, personal care assistance (bathing and showering), mobility exercises, medication oversight, home-based respite (relief for the family/whānau members currently providing care and support).

Currently there is no charge for those meeting Te Whatu Ora (DHB), Ministry of Health Disability Service and Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) criteria. For those who do not qualify under the these criteria, full services are available on a user pay basis.

Individualised Funding (IF) is also available, particularly for clients with disability who are funded through disability services and who meet the criteria. Individualised Funding enables greater control over how and when home support is provided and who provides it.

Coverage Visionwest Home Healthcare operates in and around the following Te Whatu Ora (DHB) catchment areas: Waitamatā (West Auckland, North Auckland), Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and Lakes Region (Rotorua/Taupō).
